Crocheted Cat Juan What inspired you to open your shop? We love to create with our hands. We got a lot of positive feedback from friends when we've gave them our handmade presents. So we decided to open our little shop. Besides designing & creating things, what do you do? We like to travel. Mojca likes to cook and walk her dog. I like to look for vintage and antique treasures. You can see the treasures I find in my vintage shop called My CherryTree (also here on Etsy). Besides that l like to repurpose and recycle different materials like vintage linen and vintage music sheets. Where, who or what does your influence come from? We influence each other. We discuss our ideas as part of our creative process. We upgrade ideas together. The influence also comes from nature, our travels and from materials that we use. What inspires you to be creative? Mostly we are inspired by happiness and beauty of life. How do you get out of a creative rut? We usually take a break or move on to new projects and ideas that we have in mind. A Cup of Coffee on my Balcony Zipper Purse When did you first discover that you were or wanted to be an artist? I started creating quite early on in my childhood. My mom taught me how to crochet, knit and sew at an early age. I like to learn new handmade techniques. Mojca was also taught how to crochet by her mother. A year ago she created her first amigurumi toy - Silvo the bumble bee. From that moment on she is creating unique cats, teddy bears, fish and more. Made to Order Crocheted Bumble Bee Silvo Key Chain PendantCan you describe your creative process for us? We both first sketch our ideas. Then we discuss the idea as well as what material would be the best for our items. What is your most cherished handmade possession? Mojca's most cherished hand made possession is a denim bag that I made her for her birthday. I cherish a lamb toy that my daughter made for me when I was in a hospital. Where do you see or want your shop to be this time next year? We would like to have more traffic and sales and would also like to be recognized by our own brand. Where would you like to be in ten years? We would like to be as happy as we are now, healthy and full of creative ideas. What is your best advice to newbie Etesian's just opening their shops? Make beautiful items, be nice to your customers, work on photography and be very patient. Where else other then Etsy can you be found on the net?
